Railways on the Air at Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford


South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will be QRV as EI2WRC/P from the Waterford & Suir Valley Railway, Kilmeaden, Co. Waterford on Saturday & Sunday next the 27th and 28th of September.

This event will coincide with the Railways On The Air Weekend!

"Railways on the air (ROTA) weekend usually takes place every year on the weekend closest to the 27th September. This date celebrates the anniversary of the first steam powered passenger railway which took place on 27th September 1825 - the first passenger train ran on a line in the North East of England from Darlington to Stockton. Activations from the Kilmeaden Railway station will be from approximately 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.




Suggested frequencies for the weekend are; 

3650 kHz 
7120 kHz 
14.120 MHz

Kilkenny Motor Club - vintage show

A great day out was had recently at the Kilkenny Motor Club Vintage Show on the 31st of August last. We mounted a Buddipole antenna at 25 foot with great results on 40m. The weather was excellent and so were the band conditions.
