SEARG meeting with IRTS President Seamus McCague EI8BP

On Monday last (26 January 2015), the January meeting of South Eastern Amateur Radio Group took place at the usual venue of the Roanmore Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford. Our guest at the meeting was IRTS President, Seamus McCague - EI8BP.

The meeting was very well attended with some members traveling a significant distance to be there. The IRTS AGM committee provided an update on the work completed to date in organising the AGM and Rally.

There then followed a general discussion with Seamus about club activities and amateur radio in general.

Thanks to Seamus for taking the time to come and meet with us, and of course thanks to all our members who came along and supported the event.

The next meeting of SEARG will be our Annual General Meeting on Monday 23 February 2015 at 8 p.m. in the Roanmore Centre, Waterford.

Please note, membership subscriptions are now due and can be given to any committee member or can be paid at the AGM on 23 February. Thanks to all who have already paid.

Contest win

We are pleased to announce that we took first place in the 80m Counties Contest (Summer '14) - SSB, Fixed category. The station was operated by SEARG chariperson, Dennis (EI2HSB) from Kilkenny.

SEARG Tuesday 2m Net

South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will have a 2 metre net on Tuesday nights after the IRTS weekly news has finished (approx. 9:50 p.m. local - just after the call-in). 

The aim of this activity is to promote the use of the 2 metre band and the frequency used will be 145.400 MHz. Everyone is welcome to join the net and get 2 metres active again.

First net will be 27 January 2015.

January Meeting

The January meeting of the South Eastern Amateur Radio Group will take place in the Roanmore Social and Sports Centre, Cleaboy Road, Waterford on Monday night the 26th of January at 8.00 p.m.

Special guest speaker on the night will be current IRTS President Seamus McCague EI8BP.

New members and anyone interested in learning more about amateur radio are very welcome to attend.
